Entering a Split Personality — Chapter 3

Xiao He stared at him blankly, and inexplicably remembered what Qin Su had just said.

“Never have too much affection for him.”

Could these words have another implication? He wasn’t just talking about friendly or brotherly affection?

As a determined otaku, Xiao He well understood how to write the word “danmei,” but he’d really never thought about this kind of thing before…

But on second thought, Xiao He let out a breath of relief. His employer might be excessively attractive, but no matter what, he was still a man, and he wasn’t feminine at all. Xiao He wouldn’t take him for a girl, so other kinds of affection had no chance of being born!

After comforting himself like this, Xiao He didn’t take it too seriously, and only sighed in admiration in the usual way. “He’s really good-looking.”

Qin Su had been observing his expression the whole time, and he was very satisfied with Xiao He’s reaction.

For someone seeing Fan Shen for the first time, sighing in admiration was normal, but if they turned red, their eyes filled with infatuation or they were nervous and couldn’t stand still, then they were having wayward thoughts.

And Xiao He showed none of those signs, just pure admiration.

Qin Su nodded and said, “You are indeed unrivaled.”

When he said something like this, Xiao He, on the contrary, couldn’t quite take it. If others praised him then so be it, he’d praise himself as well, he just felt a little embarrassed, who wouldn’t?!

Of course, he didn’t have too much time to spend being embarrassed. Qin Su brought him to the neighboring empty bed, and gave him a detailed introduction on how to operate the equipment.

Xiao He was just an ordinary person, and the most he’d used before was a smart phone and a computer. He’d never touched a high-end device before, so he listened seriously right now, for fear of missing something.

“There’s no need to worry too much, I’ll help you with establishing the link to enter the mental world. After you enter, you can depend on mind control for most things. It’ll be clear when the time comes.”

As he spoke, Qin Su indicated for Xiao He to lie down on the bed.

After he connected a series of wires, Xiao He heard Qin Su say in a low voice, “If there’s a large emotional fluctuation and you can’t use your thoughts to operate the equipment and leave, I’ll wake you up forcibly.”

When Xiao He heard this, his heart suddenly trembled. He asked, “Could it be I’ll encounter something terrifying?”

Qin Su said, “The mental worlds...can’t possibly be all beautiful.”

When he said that sentence, Xiao He had a feeling he’d embarked on a venture of dubious merit.

“Then...does your young master usually like watching horror movies?” Xiao He’s voice trembled a little.

Qin Su muttered, “He likes them.”

Xiao He: Fuck! I'm terrified of ghosts!

If he really entered the world of a horror movie, he’d turn into a coward in a minute!

But he was already onboard, and he had no way out… Damn it, was this good luck or bad luck? He was a little muddle-headed and couldn’t tell.

“Then...does your young master have any other unusual hobbies?” Xiao He had some regrets. He should’ve learned more about this man, he couldn’t be careless just because he was good-looking!

Beautiful but deadly, have you heard that phrase before? Would someone who could split his own mind until he fell unconscious be someone very nice?

This man had better not screw him over!

Qin Su cleared his throat and said rather kindly, “The young master doesn’t really have any unusual hobbies. If I had to list one, it would be…”

Xiao He pricked up his ears, but at the last moment, an electric current whooshed through his brain with a flash. His vision turned black, and he sank heavily into the darkness.

Fuck! Couldn’t Qin Su let him finish hearing what he said before starting?

What were the last few words? In all his life, what he hated most was someone only saying half of what they meant, understand?!

Qin Su looked at the young man whose eyes had closed, and sighed softly. It seemed he’d pressed the button a little too quickly.

But it didn’t matter. The young master’s only unusual interest was liking men, but Xiao He was a straight man, and it shouldn’t affect him, so even if he didn’t know, it didn’t matter.

Qin Su comforted himself, adjusted the machine and had Xiao He’s mental body travel in.

Before he woke up, Xiao He imagined many scenes. For example, as soon as he opened his eyes, he’d see Sadako crawling out of a well, or he’d be sitting on top of a zombie’s head, or he’d find a Tyrannosaurus Rex opening its ferocious mouth…

In short, he thought of anything and everything frightening, and when he thought he almost couldn’t take it anymore, he woke up.

The scene that entered his vision was very bright, and the glaring rays made it so he couldn’t resist squinting.

After he recovered slightly, he looked around, and couldn’t help but gasp in wonder inside.

It was completely different from the darkness and horror he had imagined. It was bright and beautiful here, dazzling and surreal, as beautiful as the fairyland of your dreams.

Xiao He seemed to be in a forest, but the scenery in this forest absolutely couldn’t be compared to that of the forests on Earth.

Unknown trees stood all around. The leaves above the tall trunks were as jade-green as fireflies, flickering brightly. Xiao He was only looking at one tree, but he almost couldn’t move his eyes away.

And when he stood up, he found that this forest was full of shining trees like this.

Glittering green, soft pink, bright yellow and pale blue…countless lustrous colors flowed together, dazzling and stunning him. There were so many he couldn’t see an end to them.

Where was this? How could it be this beautiful?!

Xiao He was astonished to no end. He suddenly heard a silvery voice ringing from beside him. “Let’s hurry, Little He, if we wait here any longer the city gates will close!”

Hey...who’s calling me?

Xiao He turned, and saw that there was actually a boy of around eighteen or nineteen beside him.

The boy had fair skin and delicate features, as well as a head of beautiful short golden hair. Under that soft hair, there were a pair of exceptionally cute pointed ears.

Xiao He blinked, and found it a bit hard to react.

The boy didn’t wait for him anymore. “Hurry and keep up, if we still haven’t returned by the time it gets dark, it’ll be dangerous!”

As soon as his words fell, he jumped up slightly, and a pair of transparent wings opened wide behind him.

Xiao He...was dumbstruck!

Fuck! He’s an elf! A live elf! Pointed ears and wings, a beautiful elf you’d only find in fairytales!

Xiao He felt he couldn’t trust his eyes anymore, and stood stock still, staring blankly at him. The young elf seemed to be close friends with him. Seeing him not moving, he came back and pulled at Xiao He's hand. “You’re really getting dumber and dumber, how can I rest easy if you keep being like this?”

As he spoke, he actually pulled Xiao He up and flew into the sky. Xiao He was born and bred on the earth, so how could he have flown like this before? He immediately got anxious and started kicking, and almost fell down.

“Hurry up and open your wings, do you think I’m strong enough to drag you there?” The boy shouted, panting, as he pulled him.

Stunned, Xiao He wanted to yell that he didn’t have wings! But at the next moment, he felt his back itching slightly, and then it seemed as if something rushed out of his body, and he...opened his wings!

He’d lived for twenty-six whole years, and he’d never before thought he could fly!

Even though he was dreaming, it was still amazing beyond belief~
