The sky was so blue it seemed as if it had been washed clean. A mountain towered far above an endless expanse of forest and ocean.
A palace stood on the peak, as magnificent as a paradise from another world, and yet as silent as a painted scroll… Suddenly, a furious roar resounded in the sky, breaking the peace.
Following the roar, a huge dragon spread its wings in rage, almost covering the sun with their breadth. It soared out of the palace, opening its jaws to spit fire, and turned the forest to a sea of flames. In an instant, the otherworldly paradise was reduced to a scene from hell.
The dragon seemed to be chasing something. It gained distance quickly, and not a moment after it disappeared, three people suddenly appeared out of thin air before the palace.
One was a white man with golden hair and blue eyes, one was a handsome young man with black hair and black eyes, and one was a delicate, cute little girl.
The blue-eyed blond was wearing the black robes of a chaplain, and a crucifix lay on his chest. His handsome features carried a charming smile, and he said softly, “According to the data we received on this world, there’s a large chance that Odin’s Eye is here. If we can just get our hands on it, our strength as a team will improve substantially.”
The handsome, black-eyed, black-haired East Asian boy at his side quirked his mouth, his face carrying a hint of a languid smile. “Lao-San baited away the dragon, and that ugly thing is used to coming and going alone. The palace should be empty right now.”
“Then what are we still dithering on for?” The little girl wore a lacy red ball gown in a baroque style, and a golden bell hung around her neck, tinkling as she moved. She had a face as sweet and delicate as a doll’s, but her eyes held a fierce battle-thirst that didn’t match her age. She fisted her little hand and shook it in the air. “Let’s go in right now!”
The three people looked into each other’s eyes, and all three gave a smile of resolution. It was as if they could already see the light of victory waving at them.
Time was tight, but they still entered the palace with the utmost caution. Their way was unimpeded, and before long, they found the wide hall where the dragon kept his hoard. The hall was heaped with gold, silver and jewels, all giving off a dazzling light that they almost had to close their eyes against.
Their pulses quickened. The scene before their eyes was incredibly tempting, but the most important thing remained Odin’s Eye.
The handsome blond took a deep breath. “Lao-San can only win us fifteen to twenty minutes. Let’s start searching—”
But as soon as his words landed, an indolent yawn came from within the heaps of jewels. A clatter followed it, as if jewels were falling to the floor.
What was this?! The three felt their hair stand up, and they pulled out their weapons with a screech of metal. They held their breaths, staring at that heap of jewels with their nerves on edge.
Besides the dragon, who could be sleeping in its hoard?
After a rustling noise, the first thing to appear in their sight was a hand.
A woman’s hand.
It was fair, slender, elegant, and without a single flaw.
But at this moment, no one had a mind for the beauty of this hand. Nothing was in their eyes but shock and fear, and their pupils shrank as they stared at it.
They saw that hand press softly on the heap of gems, delicate and boneless, neither fast nor slow. And then, gradually…a black-haired, fair-skinned East Asian woman rose from the gems.
She had a face that was so beautiful no one could move their eyes away from her. Waves of light flowed through eyes that were like black jade, and her faintly curved lips seemed to hold a smile. She seemed delicate and harmless, but no one there was naive enough to believe she truly was.
Anyone who could turn up here couldn’t possibly be delicate and harmless.
But that was only one of the reasons for their wariness. More important than that was that her other hand was currently playing with a golden gemstone. This gemstone seemed vaguely like the iris of an eye, and it radiated a pressure that made them shudder.
Without any doubt, this was their target, Odin’s Eye!
“Who are you?” The handsome blond’s eyes were grave. This woman’s dainty appearance didn’t make him underestimate her at all. This was a mission world, and no one would judge someone on their appearance. Fools often died that way.
He didn’t recognize her, but as someone who could suddenly appear here, combined with her distinctive features, she reminded him of a very bad rumor…
He’d heard that in the myriad quick transmigration worlds, there was a devil woman who irritated humans and gods alike. She took special pleasure in going to other people’s mission worlds to stir up trouble, ruining their missions and stealing their treasure. She was an endless headache for countless hosts. They shouldn’t be unlucky enough…to just happen to meet that great demon lord, right?
“I…” The woman smiled slightly in response, her eyes gentle, her voice pleasant. “Oh, I came here to thank you.”
The handsome blond: “WTF?”
The black-haired boy: “???”
The red-clothed girl: “Nani?”
The woman lightly lifted up a lock of long hair that was dangling past her ear, her eyes filling with a faint smile, gentle as water. “Thank you for helping me distract that dragon. If not for you, I’d really have had a bit of trouble. Your bravery and hard work inspire my utmost admiration. It’s just a pity that…”
Before she could finish speaking, the girl in a red dress lifted up the black katana in her hand, her eyes vicious. She scoffed coldly and said: “Less nonsense, hand it over!”
In an instant, the three people rushed at the woman before them from three different directions, leaving her without a path to escape!
This was the teamwork they’d polished through thousands of battles. Even if an unknown danger was before them, they would never give up, putting all their strength into a single fight. If they could kill her, Odin’s Eye would be theirs!
“Really, all the hosts now have no sense of humor. Shouldn’t you cooperate with the villain to finish the dialogue? That’s how they all act on TV…” The woman complained quietly. That’s what she said, but facing this sudden, ruthless, killing blow, her air was as calm as ever, as if she’d long since predicted this would happen. Her slim hand reached through the air, and a pike that was taller than she was suddenly appeared in her hand.
She swept the pike before her, and a terrifying current of air threw the three people backwards. They spat blood and fell to the floor.
Techniques couldn’t fill the gap in strength between them. This battle was a landslide victory. With this thought, the three people let out expressions of despair.
The woman sighed and looked down at them with pity in her eyes. She said unhurriedly, “We could’ve had a good talk, so why did you have to make the first move? Where’s the friendship and trust between humans? Forget it…it’s a good thing I’ve always put an emphasis on returning good for evil. Even though you made a move against me, I’ve still decided to send you home for free. No need to be too grateful.”
Her lips curved, and with a light stamp on the heap of gems, it suddenly began to collapse. The entire palace seemed to be suffering an earthquake. The three people spat blood and ran for their lives toward the exit. If they didn’t run now, they’d be crushed to death! But in the end, they were still a step too slow. The falling pillars of the palace crushed them until they were at their last gasp. They heard a notification from the system sounding in their minds, telling them that their mission had failed and they were about to leave. They looked back at the long-haired woman far above them, and the golden gemstone in her hand. Once they thought of how they’d suffered untold hardships to make it here, and had been just about to succeed…when someone stole away their treasure, turning all their preparations to dust…their eyes filled with so much hatred they were about to drip blood!
The handsome blond’s serene features twisted wildly. “Fuck you—”
The black-haired boy’s voice was full of grief. “Wǒ cào nǐ mā—” (You motherfucker—)
The red-clothed girl’s eyes were full of killing intent, and she let out a screech: “Zettai ni kisama o korosu!” (I’ll kill you for sure, you bitch!)
As they spoke their last words, their bodies dissolved into the air.
The woman lowered her eyelids and murmured, “I just helped you a little in passing, and you’re giving me such passionate thanks upon our first meeting. I’m really overwhelmed by your favor…”
At that moment, a tremendous clamor rose outside, and a dragon’s roar grew closer and closer. It looked like it had returned.
“It’s a pity, but I have to leave…” Her figure slowly turned translucent, and then disappeared.
A few moments later, the woman’s figure appeared in a white room.
She held the golden gemstone in her hand, savoring her spoils. Suddenly, an ice-cold, mechanical voice sounded in the room: “Shi Wei, you entered a world without permission and interfered in another host’s mission again.”
Shi Wei’s expression froze for a moment, but she soon recovered her natural air. Her lips curled, and she smiled lightly. “Those were all multiple-host mission worlds, so if they could go, why couldn’t I? To the victor the spoils. How can that be called interference?”
The main god said coldly: “But you don’t even need Odin’s Eye.”
Shi Wei said disgruntledly, “What do you mean, I don’t need it? It’s perfect for making a necklace. Look how beautiful it is; you can almost see the last splendor of the fall of the gods, a magnificent legend, a stirring swan song… No woman could resist its charm. Before this gem, all the diamonds in the world lose their luster!”
The main god: “...” Is jewelry what it’s fucking for?
Shi Wei paused, then arched a brow and smiled indolently. “What’s more…a prize belongs to whoever can seize it. Who told them to lose to me?”
The main god gritted their teeth and said, “So it’s their fault?”
Shi Wei completely agreed. “Weakness is the original sin.”
The main god: “...”
Shi Wei: “Besides, games are more fun when there’s competition. This will give them the motivation to grow stronger. Isn’t that what you want too?”
The main god: “...”
That’s what you say, but nobody else likes to irritate people like you, nor do they make it their goal to stir up trouble!
The main god finally made up their mind to send this troublemaker away!
“So it’s like this, I actually came here with some good news to tell you.” The main god softened his voice and coaxed her. “The contribution points you’ve earned are not only enough for you to return to your body in the real world, but there’s also a large amount left over, so once you return to reality, you can become a billionaire without any worries! You can leave those ruthless, dangerous mission worlds far behind. This is the ultimate dream that countless hosts chase all their lives!”
Shi Wei smiled slightly. “Why would I want to return to the real world? Compared to waiting in that one dull world to age and die, I feel like transmigrating to different worlds is more fun and exciting. There’s endless joy in fighting against heaven and earth.”
What normal person would find endless joy in that? Those quick transmigration worlds had a very high death rate, goddamnit! Can we take this a little more seriously?!
The main god felt the limit of his patience being tested over and over again, but he still pushed down his temper to persuade her: “But the quick transmigration worlds are very dangerous, and if you fail a mission, there’s the risk of being erased.”
Shi Wei: “Haven’t I survived just fine for the last few centuries?”
The main god felt oppressed. “Don’t you want to return to your original world?”
Shi Wei: “Why would I want to?”
The main god was unreconciled. “Don’t you have any family or friends there?”
Shi Wei: “When have I ever had that kind of thing?”
The main god was silent for several moments, and then his voice went cold. He chuckled and said, “So no matter what, you won’t go?”
Shi Wei blinked and said earnestly, “I don’t have any reason to go, and I have to stay here to keep everyone company. What will I do if they miss me when I leave? All the friends I’ve made told me to just wait for them… In any case, I can’t bear to leave my lovely little friends.”
The main god smiled coldly. “Since that’s the case, I’ll drop the pretense.”
“According to the quick transmigration emergency regulations, your energy has exceeded the limit that the supplementary worlds can bear, and may disturb the balance of the worlds. You are now exiled to a lower plane, and unless you complete your missions according to the guidelines, you will not be able to leave the worlds on that plane. Nor can anyone else enter those worlds.”
Before Shi Wei could protest, her vision dimmed and she lost consciousness.
Once he was finished with her, the main god let out a heavy sigh of relief. He’d let this bastard play by herself for a while. At least she couldn’t ruin other people’s lives anymore!

Shi Wei’s body felt incredibly heavy, and her consciousness was faint. She couldn’t even twitch a finger, as if her soul had been locked into a different shell. At the same time, memories that weren’t hers rushed into her mind.
Qi Jing was an orphan. Her mother had died young, and her father passed away in a car accident in her third year of high school. Just when Qi Jing was overwhelmed with grief and could see no future before her, she met Mrs. Han, who came to offer her condolences.
That elegant, beautiful lady appeared at her father’s funeral, and looked at her with eyes full of complex nostalgia. She told Qi Jing she was her father’s close friend, and said that she would take care of her from now on, so she shouldn’t be afraid.
That was Qi Jing’s first meeting with Mrs. Han. Before then, she had never known that her father had a friend like this. After all, her family and the Han family were from different worlds.
But Mrs. Han’s care for her was not a case of empty words. She brought Qi Jing home when she had nothing to rely on and was filled with confusion, and gave her love and attention, letting her grow up without any worries.
In some ways, Qi Jing was lucky. She had lost her parents, but she hadn’t suffered hardships the way other orphans did, nor did she experience the trials of reality… Time passed a day at a time, and once Qi Jing grew up, she realized how good Mrs. Han had been to her, and sincerely loved and respected her for it.
It was at the Han manor that Qi Jing met Han Jin.
Han Jin was Mrs. Han’s only son, and he was older than her by five years. Han Jin was born into wealth, and he was handsome, calm and refined. He didn’t look down on Qi Jing for her background, and would even take care of her occasionally… The time they spent together wasn’t much, but Qi Jing’s heart moved for Han Jin without knowing it, just like a young girl longing for a prince.
Qi Jing had a crush on Han Jin, but she didn’t dare show it. She knew she was only an orphan who Mrs. Han was helping for a time. The difference between her and Han Jin, who was born rich and destined for power, was the difference between the clouds in the sky and the mud below his feet.
She knew that one day, this fantasy of hers would vanish. This lasted until something unexpected happened.
When Qi Jing was in her fourth year of college and about to graduate, Mrs. Han fell ill.
Mrs. Han had Alzheimer’s disease. Her memory faded day by day, and the time she spent clear-headed grew less and less. Han Jin took over management of the family business. The one thing Mrs. Han couldn’t rest easy over was Qi Jing.
Mrs. Han was a sharp woman, and she’d caught wind of Qi Jing’s feelings for Han Jin early on. Once she knew of her illness, she came up with the idea of matchmaking Qi Jing and Han Jin. This way, even after her condition worsened, Han Jin could take care of Qi Jing for her.
The first time Mrs. Fu told Qi Jing of her idea, the girl’s heart was filled with disbelief and unease. It was as if she were dreaming. She had never included the option of marrying Han Jin in her life plans..she had never even dared to think of it.
But now Mrs. Han had placed this choice before her without the slightest warning.
And even more importantly, she didn’t know how Mrs. Han had explained it to Han Jin, but he actually didn’t oppose the idea.
Qi Jing couldn’t stop her imagination from running away from her. Could it be that Han Jin actually felt something for her? If she just agreed, not only would she be able to marry the man she had had a crush on for so long, but she’d also be able to stay in the Han family, and take care of Mrs. Han like a real daughter. She could repay Mrs. Han for the kindness she had given her, and show her she didn’t need to worry over her anymore… Everything seemed so perfect.
In the end, she couldn’t refuse this temptation, nor did she have a reason to refuse.
Mrs. Han’s condition was steadily deteriorating, and she was herself for less time every day, so the two young people weren’t in the frame of mind to make a great fuss over the affair. They didn’t hold a banquet, nor did they inform their friends. They simply got a marriage certificate and became husband and wife.
Qi Jing didn’t care about all that. She was content as long as she could be with Han Jin and continue taking care of Mrs. Han. She was an easily-satisfied woman.
Han Jin was her first love. Being able to marry him was like a dream to her. She knew that Han Jin only agreed to marry her because Mrs. Han asked it of him, and he didn’t really love her…but she thought that as long as they had enough time, they would be able to live happily ever after.
But reality proved that Cinderella’s fairytale ended on the day she married the prince.
After marriage, Han Jin was cold and detached, as if they were only husband and wife within the walls of this house. Once they left these doors, they were strangers without any significance to each other. He never treated her badly when it came to material things; she never had to worry about food or clothes. But he was miserly when it came to his affection.
He wasn’t willing to give her a single trace of it.
Han Jin spent all his time on work and rarely came home. He never took Qi Jing out, nor did he introduce her to his friends. He refused to let her into his personal life, to the point that in their three years of marriage, the number of people who knew she existed could be counted on one hand.
Qi Jing stayed at home day after day, silently waiting for Han Jin to come home. Her love was so humble that she never dared to hope for too much.
She stayed at home all alone, never able to get a single step closer to Han Jin, no matter how hard she tried. She could only learn about what her husband was doing outside from a few scattered sentences in the news and the tabloids. Even when she saw the tabloids buzzing with scandals where Han Jin was linked with other women and he was the topic of discussion in everyone’s mouth, while she felt like she didn’t even exist, she didn’t have the courage to interrogate him…
In the end, her heart still ached.
Only after she had bashed herself into a brick wall until her head was bleeding did she realize that this man who seemed so gentle and refined had an unyielding heart.
In the three years after Mrs. Han fell ill and Qi Jing married Han Jin, this home, that had once given her warmth and happiness, had slowly become a gilded cage that stifled her until she couldn’t breathe.
Once the fairytale ended, there was only the helpless and mournful reality.
There were times when people should not reach out for what could not belong to them.
Nor should they fall in love with someone they should not love.
They shouldn’t fall to the point where they put their heart on the ground for their love to trample on, and their love wouldn’t even give it a glance, for fear of dirtying their feet.
It would be good if she had this degree of self-knowledge three years ago.
***
These oppressive feelings were heavy enough to invoke despair. Shi Wei frowned faintly and struggled to move her fingers, slowly forcing her heavy eyelids open, her vision a little blurry.
A tall figure stood in the warm yellow light before her. Her vision focused little by little, and she finally saw it clearly.
It was a handsome man wearing a white shirt, the collar left carelessly unbuttoned, showing his slender neck and a faint hint of collarbone… A little above the taut, vigorous lines of his jaw were thin lips pressed slightly together. He looked at her with pitch-black, deep eyes that seemed to carry no trace of emotion.
But though those eyes were cold and disaffected, they made her want to drown in them.
This close to him, she could sense the faint fragrance of fine wine coming from his collar. It melded with his intoxicating air, restrained yet sensual.
When he saw her wake up, the man slowly straightened, though his eyes were without the faintest ripple. His slender fingers slowly buttoned up his collar, calm and controlled. She couldn’t see a single trace of the passion that had just ended. Even in tidying his clothes, his movements were unhurried and meticulous.
Intense sorrow surged through her mind. She knew he was about to leave, but she couldn’t bear for him to go—that was the instinctive feeling that belonged to this body.
Seeing that the man was about to rise and leave, Shi Wei suddenly reached out and grasped his hand.
The man’s movements paused, and his brows creased.
Once Shi Wei took hold of him, her head cleared, and she saw the man’s displeased expression. But she didn’t care. Who cared what the original owner of this body thought? She thought that this man had a good-looking face and body, so she wouldn’t mind going for another round. She let out a look of reluctance and looked at him, gently biting her lower lip.
Han Jin looked at the pitiable woman before him, and after a few moments, a trace of scorn and impatience flashed through the depths of his eyes. So now she had learned how to…put on an act? And here he’d thought she’d keep that timid, submissive face forever.
But she shouldn’t be too greedy; she shouldn’t reach for a mile after being given an inch.
Han Jin slowly, resolutely pulled his hand away. He pushed open the door and left without a single word, not the slightest hesitation in his eyes.
Shi Wei looked at the door closing ruthlessly in her face, and thought that her plan to take advantage of the situation to sleep with Han Jin again had failed. Her eyes filled with a little regret. Her body was sore and aching all over; that cheap husband of hers must have pretty good stamina and skills.
And just now, she’d been completely occupied with absorbing Qi Jing’s memories, so everything had been over before she had a chance to appreciate it.
She was about to get out of bed and look for some water to drink when she heard a panicked voice sound in her mind.
Xiao-Liu: <Master!!! The main god sealed your body, and exiled us to a lower plane. What are we going to do now?> He started crying.
Shi Wei was silent for a few seconds, then said, “You’re still here?”
Xiao-Liu sobbed and said, <Yes, of course I’m here. Alive, I’m your system, and dead, I’m your data packet. Wherever you go, I go. I’ll serve you forever!> He wasn’t the kind of system who abandoned their host as soon as things went bad! He’d definitely cling to his host’s thigh without budging…especially now, when she was in dire straits. As the humans said, he was helping her in her hour of need, wasn’t he?
Shi Wei sighed softly with emotion. “The main god exiled you with me? That old thing really is soft-hearted…”
Xiao-Liu: <???> Shouldn’t she be moved by his speech?
Before Xiao-Liu could figure it out, Shi Wei spoke again, the corners of her mouth raised. “It’s good that you’re here. Give me the data on this world’s mission.”
Xiao-Liu immediately said, <Many of my powers have been limited, so all I can access now is the most basic information. This world is the romance strategy kind. The condition for mission clearance is maxing out the target character’s favorability. This world’s target character is Han Jin, your body’s husband.>
Once Shi Wei heard this, her eyes filled with interest. “It’s actually a romance strategy world? Does the main god believe it can trap me here like this?”
Xiao-Liu tactfully reminded her: <Master, you’ve never chosen this kind of mission before.>
Shouldn’t the reason she’d never chosen this kind of mission before be that she had no skill for it? What’s more, her original body had been sealed, and only her soul had crossed over, so there were many tricks that she could no longer use… This was only an ordinary lower plane, but still, how could she successfully complete the mission in this kind of predicament? Xiao-Liu was extremely worried.
The corner of Shi Wei’s mouth quirked up. She said significantly, “The reason I’ve never done this before isn’t necessarily that I don’t know how to do it. It could also be that I never felt like doing it because there’s no challenge to it. The main god thinks that I’m the kind of person who can only conquer with brute force, but he’s gravely mistaken. In fact, what I’m best at is convincing people with reason!”
Xiao-Liu: <...>
Shi Wei rose from bed, found a nightgown, wrapped it around herself, and carelessly swept her fingers through her tangled long hair. She looked at the woman she found in the mirror.
She had delicate features without makeup, and looked gentle and virtuous. Her features couldn’t be called breathtaking, but you wouldn’t tire of looking at them. When she pursed her lips and creased her brows, she had a different kind of charm. Shi Wei was just about satisfied with this appearance. She calmly left the room.
Xiao-Liu was still sunk in worry. He didn’t know how they were going to get out of the predicament they were in. When he saw his host heading toward Han Jin’s room, he asked in confusion: <Master, what are you doing?>
This time, Shi Wei didn’t speak out loud, but replied to him in her mind. <Aren’t I supposed to max out Han Jin’s favorability? This marriage is emotionally abusive, and you can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs. I’m going to ask for divorce.>
Xiao-Liu’s voice abruptly raised, and he turned pale with fright. <What?!!>

Hello, it’s banoffee, long time no see! I’m really excited to be translating a novel again! It’s been a year of slogging away at this Chinese medicine book I’ve been hired to translate, and I’ve gotten through six chapters of it…😅 Unfortunately, translating a novel through-and-through is going to have to wait until I finish that job. This is just a teaser, and anyone who wants to is free to pick it up. I thought that from now on, whenever I read a completely untranslated book in Chinese, I’ll post it to Novel Updates myself, so others can enjoy it as well. 😊 In any case, it takes me like a month to finish reading a whole novel, so the workload is pretty low.
I’m glad to have found that my Chinese has improved to the extent where I can just paste the chapter into Google Docs and work directly off it, instead of first pasting it into Google Translate. It’s much improved my efficiency. I pretty much only need to look up the idioms now, to solidify the vague idea I have of their meaning.
After reading all those novels in Chinese, I can be much more blasé about translating, without having to look up and directly translate every little adjective. It means I can blast through this much faster, and also leads to a more naturalistic result. Translating used to be slower than just writing a story, and now it’s almost as fast as reading!
My advice to other translators would be that creating a good final result in English is more important than following the author’s exact wording. Many things come across better in Chinese than they do in English (the repetition of adjectives, the frequent use of filler words like 简直 and 居然, and of course the idioms and the run-on sentences). Exact translation leads to a clunky final result; you can sandblast some of those corners off. You really have to be not only their translator, but also their editor.
It took me 6 hours and 2 minutes to translate the synopsis and this chapter, write down some vocabulary, edit it, and write these notes. That comes out to a total of 5,507 words. This chapter is twice as long as a regular chapter in my old novels…this is a theme that continues, so I expect the next translator, whoever they are, may end up breaking up the chapters into sections. My translation rate was 6.6 minutes for every 100 words—a decrease in rate by 0.9 minutes from the last chapter of Entering a Split Personality, and an increase of 0.1 minutes from the last chapter of Runaway Guide. That’s honestly surprisingly fast, considering the amount of slang in the synopsis, which took me ages the first two times, and the amount of endnotes I wrote.
And now I seem to be on a trend of writing a longer endnote for each novel...😅

Lao-San (老三, Lǎo Sān) means “Old Three,” and is a casual way of referring to the third member of a group—the third oldest child in a family, for example.
Shi Wei (时薇, Shí Wēi) is made up of the characters for “time” and “royal fern.” 薇 is also part of the compound words for a couple types of flower, 蔷薇 (Japanese rose) and 紫薇 (crape myrtle).
Osmunda regalis, also known as the royal fern.
Qi Jing (戚静, Qī Jìng), is made up of the character for “relative” or “sorrow,” and the character for “stillness” or “quiet.” It’s a name that’s pretty appropriate for her personality, and her tragic backstory.
Han Jin (韩缙, Hán Jìn) has a family name that originally meant “fence,” but throughout history it’s been used as a name for both families and countries. (韩国 is Korea.) His personal name means “red silk.”
Xiao-Liu (小六, Xiǎo Liù) means “Little Six.” This is a reference to his system serial number. Also, he consistently refers to Shi Wei as 您 throughout the book. This is the respectful “you,” usually used for clients, guests and elders.
If you appreciate this translation, please consider encouraging me on Ko-fi! 💛
