Entering a Split Personality — Chapter 38

When he realized where Fan Shen’s gaze had landed, Xiao He’s heart suddenly jumped.

Fortunately, he’d already made mental preparations, so he didn’t panic. He only sucked in a breath and said lowly, “It hurts.”

Fan Shen stared at the bruise and said slowly, “How did it happen?”

Xiao He frowned and said a little helplessly, “When I was in the garden I sat down for too long, and when I suddenly got up I wasn’t steady on my feet, and I crashed into the drawing board.

The corners of the drawing board were hard and solid. If Xiao He really wasn't paying attention and crashed into it, he could easily have bruised himself.

Fan Shen’s eyes flashed.

Xiao He was afraid he’d be suspicious, so he said, “If you hadn’t tormented me so much last night, I wouldn’t be unsteady on my feet after just sitting down for a while.”

These words were a complaint, but the softness of his voice added a hint of something else to them.

Actually, before they began their relationship, Xiao He always treated Fan Shen with a casual and unrestrained attitude, doing whatever he liked.

Especially after Fan Shen grew up, there were times when Xiao He, the father, would shamelessly act silly with his son.

And Fan Shen always tolerated him, listened to him and obeyed him.

Xiao He had suddenly felt like the Fan Shen before his eyes wasn’t the Little Fan he knew anymore, so he had drifted apart from him.

Don’t mention acting silly, even normal communication grew rare.

Most of it happened in bed.

But now, Xiao He’s attitude toward Fan Shen started to change again.

If you said last night’s Xiao He might’ve been an illusion, then today’s Xiao He was truly a pleasant surprise.

Fan Shen’s eyes couldn’t help but soften, and he said lightly, “I’ll rub some medicinal liquor on it for you.”

As soon as Xiao He thought of how it would feel to have his bruise massaged, he immediately shook his head. “No need! It’ll get better by itself after a while.”

“No, if we don’t spread out the congested blood, it’ll hurt for longer.” Before Xiao He could say anything else, Fan Shen had already gotten up and left.

Xiao He sprawled across the bed and secretly gave out a breath of relief.

Rubbing medicinal liquor on his bruise would hurt a lot, but he should’ve fooled Fan Shen, right…

From the look of Little Fan, it didn’t seem like he’d thought too much about it.

Fan Shen soon returned. As soon as he smelled the odor of medicinal liquor, Xiao He began to feel afraid.

He was afraid of the pain, really afraid of the pain.

Fan Shen understood him too well. Seeing the look on his face, he knew Xiao He was afraid, and couldn’t help but say pacifyingly, “It’s alright, it won’t hurt too much. If I don’t massage it, you’ll suffer more.”

Xiao He grit his teeth. He would rather have it ache slightly for half a month than suffer a heart-piercing pain for ten minutes.

Unfortunately...Fan Shen used to be easy to talk to, but on a matter like this, he’d never be willing to give an inch.

He really had no way out. Xiao He pulled up his shirt and lay down in bed, giving in to his fate.

Fan Shen rubbed some medicinal liquor into his palms, then stroked Xiao He’s waist.

It was more painful than he’d imagined. Xiao He’s face paled, and he gave out a stifled groan.

Fan Shen’s movements didn’t stop. Xiao He was in intense pain, and he couldn’t help but clutch the bed sheets tightly. His smooth, exquisite back was covered in a thin layer of sweat.

Fan Shen was indeed helping him massage his bruise, but at this moment, his gaze uncontrollably heated up.

“If you keep shouting, I’ll stop massaging it.”

Startled, Xiao He turned his head slightly, and when he met Fan Shen’s gaze, he was shaken.

The look in Fan Shen's eyes was too familiar. He looked like this when he wanted it.

Damnit…he was almost dying of the ache in his waist, if Fan Shen screwed him on top of that, wouldn’t that be pain on top of pain?!

Xiao He felt afraid inside, so he controlled himself, and made an effort not to make a sound.

He had to say that the medicinal liquor was really effective, and Fan Shen’s technique was great as well. Once he got through the most painful stage, Xiao He unexpectedly felt a trace of heat radiating from his waist.

The air filled with the scent of medicine and alcohol, but the hands on his waist emanated warmth, lightly rubbing his waist. Not only did they ease the pain, they seemed like a little brush scratching at the tip of his heart.

The change in Xiao He’s body couldn’t get past Fan Shen’s eyes at all.

He touched Xiao He’s sensitive points without turning a hair, and once the body beneath him started trembling slightly, Fan Shen’s lips curved, and he asked, “Does it still hurt?”

Xiao He’s face was crimson. In order to avoid being found out, he buried his head in the pillow. “It...it doesn’t.”

“Since it doesn’t hurt, then have a good rest.” As his words landed, Fan Shen took away his hands.

Xiao He’s heart suddenly felt empty. He...he even...

Fan Shen seemed like he hadn’t noticed anything. He gathered up the medicinal liquor, got up and and prepared to leave.

He’d teased him until his whole body felt hot, so how could Xiao He really let him go.

“Don’t go.” Xiao He anxiously reached out to grab him.

Fan Shen smiled and looked at him. “What’s wrong?”

Xiao He’s throat bobbed, and he said in a tiny voice, “I want to...um…”

Flames stirred in Fan Shen’s eyes. “But you just said that you were tired out last night, and that you needed a good rest.”

Xiao He’s face reddened and his eyes flickered. His embarrassment reached its peak, but the heat in his body tormented him until he couldn’t calm his heart down. After a long while, he said softly, “Just once.”

Fan Shen stood there. His gaze heated up even more, but other than that, he didn’t make a single move.

Xiao He really couldn’t bear it anymore. He got up, took hold of Fan Shen and kissed him.

After that...things got out of hand.

The one time they’d agreed on...Xiao He didn’t have the face to think of it anymore.

They were unrestrained and overdid it a little at night, but miraculously, Xiao He actually wasn’t as tired as he was before.

Maybe it was because his attitude recently changed, and Fan Shen grew gentler. He allowed more for Xiao He’s feelings, which, on the contrary, made him lose himself in it more.

This kind of thing, once you got used to it, was really a bit easy to get addicted to.

Xiao He felt like he was quite shameless.

He thought that he’d deceived Fan Shen, but Xiao He was very cautious.

Fan Shen was paranoid, and Xiao He didn’t want to challenge his bottom line.

So for the next three days, Xiao He didn’t go to see Ayr.

Of course, he’d given Ayr prior notice about this. The last time they’d met, they’d given each other their phone numbers before parting, so he’d been staying in contact with him over text until now.

Ayr had agreed to not seeing him for three days, but the condition was that Xiao He had to find time to chat with him over text.

Xiao He had no way to refuse, so he could only agree.

Of course...Xiao He was very careful, and he always deleted his texts.

Xiao He had spent the last few days in an entirely too comfortable manner.

Now that he was no longer tangled up about his relationship with Fan Shen, he returned to the old days of going online, posting stories, drawing pictures and chatting idly and carefreely with his friends. Afterwards, he’d wait for Fan Shen to come home.

It was simple but fulfilling.

Actually, ever since the beginning when he’d come to this world, he’d only ever had Fan Shen in his heart. It was just that at the time, he thought of him as his child.

And now...he’d changed, and he’d become his lover.

But strangely enough, the way the two of them interacted didn’t change much.

Except for wrapping around each other every night.

Xiao He had reflected deeply during this time. It really wasn’t a coincidence that Fan Shen would have these kinds of feelings toward him.

He kept saying that he had treated him as a son, but ever since Fan Shen grew up, Xiao He had started to degenerate.

When he carefully recalled it, how had he resembled a father?

Fan Shen absolutely had a dominant character.

The excessive reliance he had on Fan Shen was easily misleading in and of itself.

He’d passed the time comfortably himself, but Fan Shen must have been subject to constant provocation.

It was a pity that he only understood now, when it was already meaningless.

It was all too late.

***

The days of happiness flew by.

A week passed in the blink of an eye. Xiao He unexpectedly held Ayr off for seven days.

The more he delayed, the more Xiao He didn’t want to see him.

He enjoyed his current lifestyle more and more, and he really didn’t want to go to the garden.

It only took an hour, but Xiao He was unwilling.

But it wasn’t okay to avoid going either. Ayr’s temper was already good enough. If he delayed any more, he was afraid he’d provoke Ayr’s anger.

When that time came, he’d really be done for.

Forget it, Xiao He encouraged himself, let’s go see him in the afternoon then!

***

Fan Shen felt like he was in heaven these days.

He was very busy with the business of seizing power amid the infighting in the Fan family, but he didn’t feel tired at all, nor did he feel the slightest bit irritated. His plans for everything were under control, and he had enough brainpower to spare.

It was all because he had only to come home, and Xiao He would be waiting for him.

Everything had gone back to the way it was before.

His Xiao He relied on him, trusted him and liked him.

This originally one-sided, possessive and dominating love had turned into a mutual understanding between them.

Not only would Xiao He call his name, he would also wrap himself around him and kiss him eagerly on his own.

When he was lost in the act, he would even say words of love that sounded like heaven.

These things that Fan Shen didn’t even dare to think about before had now become reality.

It was a little sudden, but he didn’t want to bother about those details.

After all, this dream-like life already satisfied him greatly.

He didn’t dare to ask Xiao He if he truly loved him. He only hoped that Xiao He could always be like this. That would be enough.

But God had never cared to show mercy on him.

This wasn’t really a dream-like life, but a genuine dream.

It was a dream, so there would always be a moment when he’d wake up. He just hadn’t expected it to come so fast.

He’d dealt with his affairs quickly today, so he’d come home early.

He’d wanted to give Xiao He a pleasant surprise, and take advantage of his free time to take him out for a walk, but he hadn’t seen the man.

Did he go out? Fan Shen instinctively glanced over to where the drawing board was, and found it was still sitting quietly against the wall.

He didn’t go out? Fan Shen then heard the sound of water running from the bathroom.

So he was taking a shower. Fan Shen’s eyes showed a trace of a smile, and he stepped toward the bathroom.

But when he’d only gone one or two steps, he suddenly heard a muffled sound.

A phone on vibrate?

Fan Shen rarely saw Xiao He using his phone. His friends were all online, and they all communicated with each other via instant messaging, so he almost never used his phone.

Who was contacting Xiao He?

Fan Shen turned around and took the silver and white phone out of the bed sheets.

When he swiped it open, there was a password.

Fan Shen thought about it for a moment, entered four digits and succeeded in unlocking it.

The phone had an unread message coming from an unknown number.

Was it an advertisement?

Fan Shen tapped on the message and saw that it contained only one line of words.

“He, it’s already been seven days. Come out for a bit, I miss you.”
