Entering a Split Personality — Chapter 50

Black hair and light eyes. It was his master.

Xiao He abruptly came back to himself. When he thought of the scene before his eyes, he didn’t know how to react.

He’d taken his master for Hong Qing, and kissed him on his own initiative. Not only that, but he’d shamelessly wrapped his legs around his waist, and even...even said those kinds of words.

And...what was even more terrible was that he wasn’t wearing anything under the robe he slept in. At this moment, his legs were exposed, and the place pressing against his master’s waist was bared.

This was too...too debauched!

How would his master look at him?

Once he thought of how he’d see loathing and contempt in his master’s eyes, Xiao He’s heart twisted into a lump.

His face turned as pale as paper. He didn’t dare to meet Yun Qing's gaze, tugging at his clothes in a panic, trying to cover himself. But the pajamas he was wearing were ones that Hong Qing had given him. Not only were they short on the bottom, they were loose on top. When he pulled at it with force, he instantly exposed his entire chest.

Xiao He panicked even more, until he was completely flustered. He should feel fortunate that Hong Qing had rubbed on ointment for him, and the medicine worked quickly, so the red marks on his body had already disappeared. Otherwise...it would be even more impossible to explain himself.

He was still in a panic, but Yun Qing couldn’t move his eyes away.

The boy had fair skin, and his black robe enveloped him loosely like a ribbon wrapped around fine jade, setting off his skin so it seemed softer and smoother. And at this moment, his legs were wrapped around him, and his slim chest was exposed to the air. The contrast of those two dots of pink was alluring enough to make his throat feel dry.

Yun Qing’s eyes unconsciously darkened. He really wanted to take hold of Xiao He's waist, kiss him, and take advantage of this position to taste him.

He had tasted it before. That feeling lingered in his memory until now, and whenever he thought of it, the tingling sensation was ingrained in him. He wished he could wrap around him every day.

It was just that he still had a bit longer.

Soon...very soon.

Yun Qing narrowed his eyes. He moved his gaze away with difficulty, shifting it onto Xiao He’s face.

But he instantly saw the boy's terrified eyes and his face, deathly pale as paper.

Xiao He was afraid, caught off guard and utterly shocked.

Xiao He had woken from a dream, but did he have to be this disbelieving when he saw it was him?

All of a sudden, a hammer hit him violently in the chest. Yun Qing instantly woke up. The one Xiao He had been dreaming of in his enchanting dream hadn’t been him.

This could only be the reason why he was so surprised and terrified.

Yun Qing was already mentally prepared, but once he grew so certain, his heart still slowed, and his expression unconsciously grew cold.

And Xiao He finally looked up into Yun Qing’s eyes, and saw the iciness there.

In an instant, all the blood in his body seemed to freeze.

The color of Xiao He’s lips grew almost translucent. He rose in a panic, wrapping the blanket tightly around himself. He withdrew several steps, not stopping until he’d retreated to the foot of the bed.

Yun Qing looked at the way Xiao He was hiding, and his heart sank again, but his face didn’t change much.

Xiao He didn’t dare to look at him, and only called out in a stifled voice. “M-master, I…”

“It’s fine.” Yun Qing said, “You’re young, this is normal.”

His steady voice held no derision or loathing. Xiao He relaxed a little, but he inexplicably felt a little disappointment and pain as well.

Yun Qing looked at him and said, “Get properly dressed.”

Xiao He’s movements of wrapping the blanket around himself stiffened, and he hesitated for a moment, then said, “Master, can you go out first?”

“It’s fine.” Yun Qing stood there unmovingly. “Get dressed.”

Xiao He thought about it, and he felt that it wasn’t actually a big deal. His own heart was full of filthiness, but his master was clean and honest.

They were both men, not to mention they were master and apprentice. Putting on some clothes wasn’t a big deal.

Xiao He didn’t want Yun Qing to discover anything, so he didn’t say anything more. He let go of the blanket and began unfastening his buttons.

Yun Qing looked at him unblinkingly. After a long while, he suddenly asked, “Xiao He, do you have anyone you like?”

Startled, Xiao He was silent for a moment before replying, “I do.”

Yun Qing’s eyes flashed slightly, but his tone didn’t change. “Were you thinking of that person just now?”

Xiao He dipped his head and responded, “Yes.” He thought of him every day.

Yun Qing looked at his fair neck and asked another question. “It’s a man, isn’t it.”

It was a question, but it ended on a note of certainty.

Xiao He stiffened, but he soon relaxed again. His position just now indeed hadn’t seemed like he was fantasizing about doing it with a woman.

He inexplicably felt a little downcast. Xiao He again responded, “Yeah.”

Yun Qing’s throat moved slightly, and he finally asked, “Is it Luo Fei?”

Xiao He’s movements abruptly paused, and panic flashed through his eyes. Why would he ask if it was Luo Fei? Could it be that he knew about the events of that day?

Just as he was filled with doubts, Yun Qing added a few more words. “I saw that you often got interacted with him in the past.”

...It turned out it was like this.

Xiao He let out a breath of relief. It was true, he had few friends, and he knew no one better than Luo Fei. He had admitted that he liked men, so it was normal for his master to think this way.

His mind suddenly worked, and he thought of an idea. Since his master had misunderstood, then let him misunderstand to the end. This way, his thoughts couldn’t possibly be exposed.

“That’s right.” Xiao He’s voice was soft. “It’s him.”

Hidden in his long sleeves, Yun Qing’s hands suddenly clenched. After a long while, he finally replied lowly, “Okay.”

Then he turned and left.

He came suddenly and left more suddenly yet.

Xiao He finally dared to look up at him, but all he could see was his back, elegant as the wind, like an immortal in the mist.

Unreachable, untouchable, and so distant he could only look up at him.

But now, Xiao He didn’t want to look anymore, he really didn’t want to look.

Taking a deep breath, Xiao He inexplicably thought of Hong Qing.

The same features, with a different temperament.

One gave him pain, while the other gave him pleasure.

But why did he just have to tug at the painful one?

He could only say he was foolish, so foolish there was no saving him.

Xiao He spent the day peacefully. The so-called peace was from not seeing Yun Qing.

But in the bamboo forest several meters behind his room, jars of wine covered the ground, and their aroma filled the air.

Hong Shuang strode over. Her elegant brows were tightly creased, and unconcealed worry showed from the depths of her eyes.

The bamboos were verdant green, their thin leaves stretching on endlessly. Amid this sparkling, translucent green, his white clothes were especially dazzling.

Alone against the verdant green, his black hair was like a stream of water, and his pale clothes surpassed the frost and mist. The man leaned against the back of a wide bamboo chair, fair slender hands showing from within his fallen sleeves. His fingers were wrapped around a cup of pure jade, and within the cup was rich, strong wine. The fragrance spilled out everywhere, as if it wanted to intoxicate the very sky and earth.

Hong Shuang frowned, walked over and said, “Your injuries have only just healed, how can you…”

She hadn’t finished her words when Yun Qing looked up at her. His long, narrow eyes held calmness and indifference, without the slightest hint of intoxication.

Startled, Hong Shuang couldn’t go on.

Yun Qing said unhurriedly, “I’m fine, you should go back.”

Hong Shuang looked at the wine jars that had rolled all over the ground. How could she fail to see whether he was fine or not? She couldn’t help saying a few more words. “What’s wrong? The calamity-reversal spell will reach success tomorrow. You’re on the verge of achieving your desire, why…”

“I said,” Yun Qing’s voice was full of coldness, “go back.”

Taken aback, Hong Shuang couldn’t say anything more.

She understood Yun Qing. In the past, this man seemed indifferent as the clouds and wind, as if nothing entered his heart, but if he grew angry, he could turn the world upside down.

She didn’t dare to further provoke him, so she could only turn and leave.

But Hong Shuang knew that this probably had something to do with Xiao He.

She hesitated for a moment, her footsteps only pausing slightly, but the man behind her already warned her coldly: “You’re not allowed to go find him.”

Hong Shuang stiffened, turned her head slightly, and saw that his long, narrow eyes were frozen like frost. She completely curbed her urges.

“I understand.” Once she laid down these words, she sighed in her heart, turned and left.

Xiao He trained all day long. After the sun had set and the sky darkened, Hong Qing came.

As usual, the red-clothed man wrapped his arms around Xiao He's waist as soon as he saw him, lowering his head and covering his lips.

Xiao He frowned slightly, tasting the strong flavor of wine. He pushed him away and asked, “You’ve been drinking?”

Hong Qing thought of the wine jars in the bamboo forest, nodded and said, “I drank quite a bit.”

Once he finished speaking, he wanted to kiss him again.

Xiao He avoided him and put his hand up between them.

Hong Qing said, dissatisfied, “I haven’t seen you all day, and I missed you a lot. How come you won’t give me a kiss?”

Xiao He glared at him. “We agreed that you weren’t allowed to mess around on Bluephoenix Peak!”

Before, Hong Qing would definitely have obediently picked him up and left, but today, once he woke up, he realized that Hong Shuang had actually gone down the mountain.

Without his guard here, he wasn’t afraid, and he really didn’t feel like running back to the demon world.

He had to go down the mountain, cross the border, and pass through several streets. With the same amount of effort, he’d long since have torn off Xiao He’s clothes and rammed in to his heart’s content.

When he thought of this, Hong Qing felt a little impatient. His features were exquisite, and when his eyes crinkled, the narrow corners of his eyes were outrageously pretty. He knew that Xiao He had no resistance against this face and voice, so he lowered his voice and pleaded, “One kiss, Xiao He, just one kiss.”

Xiao He’s eyes were full of doubt, but his big eyes lured Hong Qing in until he felt a strong desire.

“Really.” Hong Qing blinked his eyes and promised, “One kiss and we’ll leave, no one will ever find out.”

Even looking at Hong Qing’s coaxing manner, Xiao He understood his temperament. If he really listened to him, it definitely wouldn’t stop with something as simple as a kiss.

So he wasn’t deceived at all. He raised a brow and said, “No! Leave first and then we’ll talk.”

Hong Qing was all out of patience. He simply went around the hand Xiao He had in the air and bit him on the neck, his hands reaching dishonestly deeper.

Xiao He got nervous. “Hong Qing, stop, if you keep messing around I’ll get angry...ah…”

He reached out to push away Hong Qing’s hands, but his mouth opened for an instant. Sharp-eyed, Hong Qing took the chance to cover his lips, rushing straight in and urgently hooking his tongue.

Xiao He was unbelievably angry. He opened his mouth, wanting to bite him, but Hong Qing was very astute at the moment. He licked Xiao He’s palate with the tip of his tongue, successfully making him go limp.

Now Xiao he could hardly move at all, let alone bite him.

Hong Qing had gotten his way with a single move. Now that he had an inch, he wanted a mile.

The two men were still in the courtyard, in a wide stretch of swaying medicinal herbs, but Hong Qing started to tear at his clothes without the slightest scruple.

Xiao He was really scared of him, and afraid that someone would find out, so he couldn’t help saying softly, “Hong Qing, please, not here, let’s go to the demon world, okay…”

Hong Qing ignored him, his movements not stopping at all.

Xiao He pushed him away from one place, but he couldn’t stop him in another. By the time he covered himself up there, his clothes were already in a mess. He knew Hong Qing could be coaxed but not coerced, so he continued saying, “If we go to the demon world...if we go to the demon world, you can do whatever you want.”

These words were really too tempting. Hong Qing’s hands paused slightly for a moment, as if he were considering it.

Xiao He was afraid he’d be too pleased now, and would think of ways to torment him. He hurriedly added a few words: “But...you can’t do anything too crazy.”

Hong Qing looked up into his shining eyes, and the tip of his heart suddenly trembled. He felt like his entire chest was filled with a warm, sweet and soft mess, making him wish he could rub the boy in front of him straight into his heart.

“No...Xiao He, I can’t hold back anymore.” His throat was rough, but he still had some reason left. He took Xiao He up in a princess carry, going straight back into Bluephoenix Palace.

Once they entered his room, Hong Qing wanted to press him down. Xiao He was really out of options, so he could only take the chance to close the door.

And the instant the door closed, Hong Qing rammed in hard.

Xiao He took a deep breath and held on tight to Hong Qing’s back, unable to figure out what madness had seized him.

But in fact, this was only the beginning.

He didn’t know whether it was because he’d drunk wine or what, but there was no end to tonight’s Hong Qing.

Xiao He had gone limp all over, and he felt so good his mind was completely blank. He really couldn’t resist anymore, but Hong Qing still hadn’t stopped.

Hong Qing bit the boy’s lips and said lowly, “Don’t hold back, I want to hear.”

Even if Hong Qing talked himself hoarse, Xiao He wouldn’t act the way he did in the demon world. This was Bluephoenix Palace, so how could he make a sound?

Hong Qing knew what his misgivings were about, and he couldn’t resist coaxing him gently. “Don’t be afraid, he’s not here. He went out, or I wouldn’t take you here.”

His words put Xiao He a little more at ease. So Hong Qing wasn't so indiscreet, after all.

But even if it was like this, Xiao He still didn’t want to make a sound. He simply couldn’t cross the hurdle in his heart.

Hong Qing did him to no avail. After wearing the boy out for a good while longer, he finally satisfied himself a little. Seeing that Xiao He had already fallen asleep, he sighed and carried him to the bathroom for a wash.

He washed him properly at first, but as he kept on looking, he found it a little hard to restrain himself.

He hastily wiped him dry and carried him back to the bed again.

Hong Qing was about to press him down again, but he suddenly felt dizzy.

This feeling was too familiar. Yun Qing was about to wake up.

Why would it be at this time? Hong Qing looked outside, and suddenly realized something.

He was done for, he’d played too hard. It was actually dawn.

Hong Qing hurriedly tried to leave, but the dizziness came on fast. Without realizing it, he completely lost consciousness.

Regaining consciousness, Yun Qing saw the scene before him and froze slightly.

A fair boy lay on the large carved bed, without a stitch on, sleeping there defenselessly. There were ambiguous red marks on his body, and his long, slim, fair legs were like a seductive demon’s, capturing his heart and soul.

Yun Qing frowned slightly. He looked down and saw his red hair, and instantly understood.

It was Hong Qing…

Could it be that Hong Qing and Xiao He…

Yun Qing’s eyes chilled, but he didn’t leave, leaning down and pressing himself against the boy instead. Xiao He shrunk slightly from his touch, but he didn’t resist.

Yun Qing felt the fire in his stomach burning hot and fast, making it hard for him to endure.

He didn’t hold back, pressing Xiao He down and burying himself inside. The devastating pleasure made his heart tremble.

Xiao He was deeply asleep, but this intrusion made him abruptly wake up.

This feeling was different from usual. It was slow and steady, not urgent and fast, but it was so slow it was tortuous, so gradual it was intoxicating. It hit him right on the tip of his heart, time after time.

Xiao He opened his eyes, and when he saw the steady and calm “Hong Qing,” his heart inexplicably jumped.

He covered his eyes with one hand and murmured in a softly panting voice, “Don’t...don’t do it like this.”

Yun Qing paused, and he said unhurriedly, “What?”

His low, rough, restrained voice made Xiao He’s heart jump. He couldn’t help but say, “Don’t act like him, don’t be like him.”

His words made Yun Qing’s heart overflow with cold water. “If it’s him, you won’t feel anything?”

“Hong Qing!” Xiao He’s voice was full of a tremble that he found it hard to suppress. “Don’t play with me, please…”

The boy’s words almost came out in a sob. “You know perfectly well that I can never have him…”

The author has something to say:

Yes...we’re about to see light at the end of the tunnel!

I saw a girl said she’d almost forgotten this was a modern-era novel, but actually, that was the original intention of the novel, wasn’t it? If I was really writing a danmei cultivation novel, it’d have to be more than a million words. How could it be as fun as it is now, with pure feelings and only a little melodrama, easily settled with just a few tens of thousands of words, bwahaha!

***

4 hours and 18 minutes for 3,205 words, or 8 minutes for every 100 words. A decrease in rate by 1.1 minutes, yay! I'm pretty much back where I was pre-cultivation-arc.
